The name ‘Eugene’ is quite common and originates from the Greek meaning ‘well-born’. In the movie Gattaca, the character of Jude Law is named ‘Eugene’ and going by the theme of the movie, it talks about the practices of eugenics, the science of improving the hereditary quality of the human population. It was coined by Francis Galton in 1883.
