Beecher Island, Colorado, and Beecher, a village in Illinois are two places named after people from the Beecher family. The village is named after Henry Ward Beecher while the island is named after Frederick H. Beecher. One of the Beecher family members, Harriet Beecher Stowe is a popular name in literature, for writing the novel, Uncle Tom’s Cabin.
