Jean Harlow was at her peak of stardom in the 1930s. Her popularity was noticed by many including Bob Kane, Batman’s creator. Inspired by Harlow and his love for Hollywood, he created the character ‘Catwoman’ (Selina Kyle), who committed crimes as well as have a romantic interest in Batman. The other inspiration for Selina Kyle happens to be Ruth Steel, Kane’s cousin.
