Hard Times happens to be the tenth novel of Charles Dickens and it was published in 1854. Unlike most of his other novels, Hard Times is not set in London and uses a fictional town of Coketown. In a nutshell, the novel is a satire and a commentary on the economic conditions of England of that era.
