Night Nurse, the 1931 movie produced by Warner Bros was based on a 1930 novel of the same name. The supporting role of ‘Nick the Chauffeur’ was originally intended for James Cagney. However, with the huge success of The Public Enemy, Cagney was not allowed to play supporting roles by the studio executives, thus paving the way for Clark Gable and rest is history!
