Charly, a 1968 science fiction film was adapted from the 1966 novel ‘Flowers for Algernon’ written by Daniel Keyes. The novel was in turn based on a 1958 short story by Keyes. The short story was published in ‘The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction’ the following year. Actor Cliff Robertson won the Best Actor Oscar for portraying the title role of Charly.
