Today’s post is about Prof. Udupi Ramachandra Rao, a world renowned space scientist from India, who passed away yesterday at the age of 85. Beginning from India’s first satellite ‘Aryabhata’ in 1975, under his guidance over 18 satellites were launched from India. There have been many honours bestowed upon him including the second highest civilian award, Padma Vibhushan and is the first Indian to be inducted into ‘Satellite Hall of Fame’.
