22 June 1897 is a Marathi movie based on the real-life incidents surrounding the assassination of British officers Charles Rand and Lt. Ayerst. The assassination was carried out by Chapekar brothers led by Damodar Hari Chapekar, on whose autobiography the movie is based. This film is one of the selected few among the Indian films preserved in the US Library of Congress.
