The Bridge on the Drina is a historical novel written by Ivo Andrić in 1945. The story mentions the history of Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian regions over four centuries from the 16th century until first World War. The name Drina was the inspiration for Robert de Niro to name his daughter, Drena de Niro.
