Ms. is an American magazine that was started by Gloria Steinem and Dorothy Pitman Hughes, the second-wave feminists. It was started in 1971 as an insert to the bi-weekly magazine New York. Since 1972 it was published as a stand-alone issue and currently published by the Feminist Majority Foundation.
