Toy Bazaar was a toys company started by Frederick August Otto Schwarz in 1862. It started in Baltimore and soon spread to Philadelphia and Boston. In 1889, the name was changed to FAO Schwarz where FAO being the initials of the founder. Hundred years later, in 1963 the Schwarz family sold the business and from there until now, the business has changed hands several times. The iconic BIG Piano Dance Mat is the product of FAO Schwarz and it featured in Tom Hanks’ BIG.
