As per the will of Hitler’s, his trusted aide Joseph Goebbels was supposed to succeed him as the Chancellor of Germany. When Hitler committed suicide on 30 April 1945, Goebbels took over, however it was for a day. I guess the reality of their atrocities had finally sunk in and he along with his family (wife and six children) committed suicide on 01 May 1945.
