In the 2001 Connie Willis novel ‘Passage’, there is a mention of Hindenburg disaster as it happens to be the favourite disaster of the character Maisie, who has a penchant for famous disasters. Hindenburg was a German passenger airship that caught fire and destroyed during its attempt to dock in New Jersey. It took place in 1937 and resulted in the death of 36 people.
