In the Donald Duck universe, the triplets Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck are the nephews of Donald Duck. The names are inspired by Huey Long, former governor of Louisiana; Thomas Dewey, former governor of New York and Louis Schmitt, an animator at the in-house Disney studios. The triplets first made their appearance on the 1937 comic strip created by Ted Osborne and Al Taliaferro. Regarding the colours of their outfits, Huey is red,  Dewey in Blue and Louie in green.
