FACT FOOD #869

According to Greek mythology, when Theseus entered the Labyrinth to kill the minotaur, he unraveled a “clew” — a ball of thread so he could find his way out of the Labyrinth. The word ‘clue’ entered the lexicon from the 16th-century meaning ‘that which points the way’ as a variant of the spelling for ‘clew‘.
