The tube top, a woman’s clothing came into popular fashion in the 1970s. It initially came out as a manufacturing error and was sold at a store owned by Murray Kleid in New York. Elie Tahari, a fashion designer, an Iranian refugee in New York saw the error as a potential opportunity, bought these tubes and resold them at a slightly higher price and it became a hit! Tahari now runs a million-dollar empire.
