Charles Grey, also known as 2nd Earl Grey was the prime minister of the Great Britain and Ireland from 1830 to 1834. Apart from being famous for abolishing slavery in British Empire, we know him as the name-bearer for the Earl Grey tea. According to a legend, this tea blend was Chinese gift to Grey’s men, as a return gift for having saved the son of a Chinese mandarain.
