The Daguerreotype method was one of the most commonly used in the mid-19th century attributed to the French photographer Louis Daguerre. His method reduced the exposure time in photography from more than 20 minutes to one minute. It was one of the breakthrough studies that served as a basis for further improvements. Nine years after his death in 1860, his methods started to dwindle over more effective and cheaper alternatives.
