In 1999, Alaska Airlines became the first to introduce online check-in. The service started off on a limited basis and in the following months, the facility to check-in was made available to general public on certain routes. In addition, the airline was also the first in the world to integrate GPS and Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System, which gave a 3D view of the terrrain.
