FACT FOOD #692

The Concorde aircrafts built by France and the UK were one of the two supersonic aircrafts that operated commercially. Soviet Union’s Tupolev flew passengers for seven months from November 1977 till June 1978. Concorde’s first test flight in 1969, Concorde had managed to build quite a reputation as being the fastest and safest aircrafts in the world. Since the 2000 crash of Air France’s concorde flight and the high operational cost made it expensive for British Airways and Air France to continue with Concorde. Since October 2003, the Concorde flights have been retired.
