The destruction of the tea in Boston in 1773 was an act carried out by the American colonists hurling down more than 300 crates of tea from the three ships on Boston harbour. It was a political protest against the Tea Act, which the British Government had enacted earlier in the year. The popular name ‘Boston Tea Party’ was referenced 50 years later, when it found a mention in the two books – A Retrospect of the Tea-Party and Traits of the Tea Party.
