The term ‘podcast’ was first coined in 2004 by British technology writer Ben Hammersley, by combining the words “iPod” and “broadcast.” The concept of podcasts existed before 2004, as Christopher Lydon, former NY Times reporter and radio broadcaster is often given credit for creating the concept of podcasts.
