Tall contains 12 fl oz (355 ml) of beverage; grande is the Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and French word for grand, which is 16 fl oz (473 ml); venti comes from the Italian word for ‘twenty’ which is 24 fl oz (709 ml) and trenta is Italian for ‘thirty’, which is 31 fl oz (916 ml).
