If you have been a consumer at Starbucks, you might have come across the terms ‘tall’, grande, venti and trenta. The marketing team at Starbucks came up with these names to impress the global clientele. Tall contains 12 fl oz (355 ml) of beverage; grande is the Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and French word for grand, which is 16 fl oz (473 ml); venti comes from the Italian word for ‘twenty’ which is 24 fl oz (709 ml) and trenta is Italian for ‘thirty’, which is 31 fl oz (916 ml).
