Pablo Picasso depicted the horror of Guernica bombing through one his paintings. As a part of Operation Rugen which took place in 1937 during the Spainish Civil War, the German and Italian bombers pounded the town of Guernica which costed the lives of hundreds of people. Through this painting, Picasso spread the message of anti-war and a tapestry copy of the painting can be found inside the UN Building, New York.
