Henry Ford did not invent the automobile, however he is credited with transforming the automobile industry through industrialisation. His major contribution can be attributed to the invention of moving assembly line (Oct 7, 1913) that saved a lot of time which allowed Ford to mass produce cars and thereby reduce the prices, which enabled more people to buy what was considered a luxury item. This innovation complimented his T model which was known as the ‘car of the masses’ in 1908.
