Luciano Pavarotti’s last performance was at the opening ceremony of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin where he sang ‘Nessun Dorma’ from Turandot. His act was lip-synced as he was suffering from cancer at that time. He passed away in September 2007, a few weeks of shy of turning 72.
