La Gacilly is a municipality located within the region of Brittany in north-western part of France. This place is synonymous to the businessman Yves Rocher, who was born and in 1959 started his cosmetics company ‘Yves Rocher’. The botanical garden at La Gacilly, maintained by the company is the source to many of the ingredients used in the cosmetics. The Frenchman also served as the mayor of La Gacilly from 1962 up until his death in 2009 after which his son Jacques Rocher took his place as the mayor.
