Born George Herman Ruth, this American baseball player was more popularly known by his nickname ‘Babe’. He was an icon for close to two decades in the major-league mostly with New York Yankees. However, his major-league career started and ended in Boston. As a starting pitcher, he made his debut with Boston Red Sox in 1914 and remained six seasons with them (winning three titles) before being sold to NY Yankees. He spent over 15 seasons with the Yankees and achieved his greatest fame during this reign. His relative poor performance and age prompted him to be sold to Boston Braves in 1935, where he retired afer playing out just one season.
