Topper, a Cary Grant starrer 1937 comedy movie along with Laurel and Hardy’s 1937 movie Way Out West happen to be the first black-and-white movies to be digitally colourised. The colourised version was redistributed in 1985 by Hal Roach Studios while the colorization process was done by Wilson  Markle’s Colorization Inc, of which Hal Roach studios had a 50% share.
