The Constitution of India, which came into effect on January 26, 1950 was originally handwritten by Prem Behari Narain Raizada and can be found at the Library of the Parliament of India enclosed in a special helium-filled case. The size of the book is about 16×12 inches hardbound and weighs around 3.75 kg. Along with the writing, one can witness the artistic work by Nandlal Bose who has depicted historic scenes in the form of headers, illustrations, backdrops and borders. These include the Vedic times, the Indus valley, the two epics, Ashoka’s rule, Akbar, Shivaji, Guru Gobind Singh, Tipu Sultan and the freedom movement of Gandhi’s Dandi march and Subhash Chandra Bose.
