Currently, there are 19 members who have adopted the euro currency, the last of which was Lithuania, which became a EU member state on 1 January 2015. The other EU member states to 
have adopted ‘euro’ as a currency are: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain.
