Nicknamed as the “Mother Road,” and as the Main Street of America, the historic U.S Route 66 also known as the Will Rogers Highway was one of the popular highways which covered a distance of close to 4000 km starting from Chicago, Illinois passing through six states before culminating at Santa Monica, California. The highway was first established on November 11, 1926 before removing from the US Highway System on June 27 1985 to be replaced with Interstate Highway system.
