The First Balkan War was fought between the Balkan League comprising of Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece and Montenegro against the Ottoman Empire. It lasted for seven months between the years of 1912 and 1913. The Balkan League met with success and the events in the war led to the creation of an independent state ‘Albania’. Bulgaria, unhappy over the division of spoils from the war waged a battle against other members of the Balkan League which led to the Second Balkan War, a month after the culmination of the first Balkan war.
