The Pied Piper of Hamelin is one of the legends that was born in the town of Hamelin, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It was during the Middle Ages the legend of Pied Piper grew, and the earliest description of this story was mentioned on a stained glass window in the Church of Hamelin (c. 1300).
