Edith Wharton is known for her novels, novellas, poetry, short stories, and non-fiction, was nominated for Nobel Prize thrice for literature in 1927, 1928 and 1930. Her twelfth novel ‘The Age of Innocence’ won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1921, thus making her the first female to win the coveted Pulitzer Prize.
