Referred as Switzerland’s Mickey Mouse, Globi, the face of the Swiss departmental chain Globus was created by the Swiss cartoonist Robert Lips in 1932 to mark the company’s 25th anniversary. The original name planned for the character was ‘Kimbukku’ which was later changed to the Basler German dialect word for the company’s name.
