Dream Theater is an American progressive metal band formed in 1985 by three students John Myung, Mike Portnoy and John Petrucci from the Berklee College of Music. They were initially called “Majesty” before another band by the same name threatened to file a lawsuit against them. They later renamed themselves after a demolished cinema house in Montery, California. They are well known for their technical skill in their respective instruments winning many accolades from various music magazines. One of their best albums, arguably, is ” Images and Words”, which has the classic “Pull Me Under” (this album went Gold in the US and Platinum in Japan).
