The story of Lavazza coffee began in the late 19th century. Luigi Lavazza in 1895 purchased a grocery store, Pasissa Olivero at Via San Tommaso 10 in Turin. Very soon after having seen the custom made coffee recipes, Luigi also got involved in this trade and became an wholesaler. With time and support from his three sons the brand ‘Lavazza’ survived two World Wars while becoming a very popular name in the coffee world. The fourth generation of the Lavazza family currently runs the business.
