James William Lambert was involved in the first accident in American history. Lambert’s single cylinder automobile (first in America) hit a tree root which resulted in losing control and smash into a hitching post. The passengers Lambert and James Swoveland suffered minor injuries. However, Lambert is not remembered just for this, he is known for more than hundred innovations in the field of automobile.
