Polson, a diary products brand from India was the brain child of Pestonjee Eduljee. He started the brand in 1915 and the first diary of Polson was set up in 1930 at Anand, Gujarat. The success story of Polson’s butter remained until 1946, when under the leadership of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a co-operative movement with farmers was created which resulted in the formation of Amul, which continues to be popular even today. Amul’s arrival hurt the operations of Polson and the business was eventually sold and diverted towards tanning and leather production in 1970’s.
