There are more than one theory for the naming of the month June. In the poem, Fasti written by Ovid, a Roman poet, the month is named after Juno, the Roman goddess of marriage, and wife of Jupiter, the supreme deity. Other explanation is that the name derives from the Latin term ‘iuniores’, which means ‘younger ones’.
