Each of the hoops in Audi predecessor’s company Auto-Union represent the 4 founding companies of the consortium, way back in 1932: like DKW, Horch, Wanderer and Audi. The name Audi comes from the Latin name of the surname of the founder August Horch. ‘Horch’ in German means ‘listen’ which is known ‘audi’ in Latin.
