FACT FOOD #216

As a manager of Perry’s cycle company in 1891, Albert Eadie became friends with R.W. Smith and the friendship turned into a partnership which paved the way in starting ‘Enfield manufacturing company’ at Redditch. The company started supplying precision rifle parts to the Royal Small Arms factory in Enfield, Middlesex. The word Royal comes from ‘The Royal Small Arms Company’ and thus ‘Royal Enfield’ was born with the trademark ‘Made Like a Gun’.
