The scientific name of Cashew is ‘Anacardium’, the name originates from the Greek language (ana means ‘upwards’ and cardium means ‘heart’). The cashew was native to Brazil and the Portuguese introduced cashew to Goa in the 1560’s and with time became popular across India.
