Cinq Semaines en Ballon known in English as Five Weeks in a Balloon is a novel published by the legendary adventure novelist Jules Verne. Published in 1863 (French and 1869 in English), this novel gives a glimpse of the exploration of Africa which at that time was still at its nascent stage for Europeans.
