FACT FOOD #121

For the lovers of words, here is one antiquated one – nudiustertian. The word literally means “today the third day” comes from the Latin word ‘nudestarianus‘ and this originates from the phrase ‘nudius tertius’ – the day before yesterday.
On further inspection, the word nudius comes from nu meaning ‘now’, and dius for ‘day’, and tertius means ‘third’. According to OED, the meaning of nudiustertian is ‘of or relating to the day before yesterday’.
