Albert Romolo Broccoli, who produced the James Bond series with Harry Saltzman came from Italy and his family moved to New York in the 1870’s. His uncles is believed to have brought the first seeds of Broccoli belonging to the cabbage family to USA.
He started his career as an assistant director on The Outlaw (1943), directed by Howard Hawks and produced by Howard Hughes. After the World War II, he started to finance films.
