Noah Webster, an American journalist was born in the village of West Hartford,Connecticut. He graduated from Yale College and studied law and was admitted to the bar at Hartford.But he practised law briefly. He taught school at Goshen,NY. On his death, the rights were sold to G. and C. Merriam Co. of Springfield.
