Fred Ott

Frederick P. Ott was an employee of Thomas Edison’s laboratory in the 1890’s and appeared in two of the earliest motion pictures recorded through the means of a Kinetoscope. Fred Ott’s sneeze and Fred Ott Holding a bird, both created in 1894. Fred Ott’s sneeze happens to be registered with the U.S Copyright Office. The application was submitted for registration on Jan 9th 1894, by William Kennedy Laurie Dickson of Orange, New Jersey, one of Thomas Edison’s assistants.
